Jane Thompson

Jane has been recognized as a leader in mass market financial services. She founded Walmart Financial Services and led the group to become the largest business in America serving underserved financial service consumers. American Banker recognized Jane as Innovator of the Year in 2011 and as one of the Top 25 Women in Finance.

Prior to Walmart, Jane's career included Procter & Gamble, Sears (including Sears Credit), and management consulting with McKinsey & Company, Inc.

Jane recently founded Jane J. Thompson Financial Services LLC to support businesses, large institutions as well as rapid-growth and start-up ventures, focused on financial services needs of underserved and mass-market consumers

David Alvarez

Mr. Alvarez founded Nexxo on the guiding principle that all people should have access to convenient and affordable financial services and that technology is the key to cost effectively delivering those services. Nexxo’s EFS (Everyday Financial Services) platform delivers a customer-centric multi-product multi-channel user experience. Clients and partners can leverage Nexxo technology to offer check cashing, money transfer, bill pay, prepaid card servicing, money order and top-up and can provide those services via self-serve kiosk, traditional over-the-counter and mobile delivery channels.

As the former President and Vice-Chairman of Providian Financial, one of the largest credit card issuers worldwide, he was instrumental in its rapid growth between 1990 and 2001 from a few thousand to over 35 Million cardholders, one in 8 households in the US. During his eight years of profit and loss responsibility, Mr. Alvarez delivered greater than 25% compound annual growth rate in profits, culminating in more than $2 Billion pre-tax profits in 2000. During his tenure, he managed over 12,000 employees in twelve locations across six states. Providian was an innovator in credit card pioneering the use of direct mail, credit bureaus and product innovations like No Annual Fee Gold Cards and Balance Transfer.

Mr. Alvarez holds both BA and MS degrees from Stanford University.

William J. Taggart

William J. Taggart is the President and CEO of Atlanta Life Financial Group (ALFG).

Taggart oversees the strategic direction of the Atlanta-based financial services company. Atlanta Life Financial Group is the only African-American owned and privately held company in the country with a financial services platform that includes asset management, investment banking/brokerage and insurance. Atlanta Life Financial Group’s three subsidiaries include: Herndon Capital Management (HCM); Jackson Securities (JS); Atlanta Life Insurance Company (ALIC).

With more than 27 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies, entrepreneurial ventures and federal government agencies, Taggart assumed the helm of Atlanta Life Financial Group in July 2011. Prior to joining Atlanta Life Financial Group, Taggart served as Chief Operating Officer for the Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA), appointed by U. S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.

Taggart’s experience also includes leadership posts with the Wachovia Corporation including serving as the Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Investment Banking; President, Info-One, an insurance subsidiary; and Chief Administrative Officer, Wachovia Insurance.

Taggart, an Atlanta native, is a graduate of Howard University and received his master’s degree from Harvard Business School. He is active in various civic organizations and serves on the board of the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Atlanta Committee for Progress. Taggart is a life member of National Black MBA Association and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
