The ATM has arguably become the prime customer touchpoint for the delivery of retail financial services. As such, implementation of self-service and off-branch banking continues to be a major growth driver for financial institutions. This rapidly growing area is also where the fight with fraudsters is at its fiercest.
As Europe and other regions around the world implement new security standards at the ATM, fraudsters are moving on to easier targets. Not surprisingly, the weakest point of resistance will be hit the hardest -- making it vital to adopt a unified, consistent and secure approach on a global basis.
For example, Visa and MasterCard have already challenged financial institutions in the United States to meet the same ATM standards as many of their global counterparts, or bear the liabilities from fraud for themselves.
Meanwhile, financial institutions also face aggressive timelines to meet complex legislative and regulatory compliance, and new technologies and standards to process in a short time.
Along with an analysis of key security and compliance trends facing financial institutions, gain real-world insight to help your organization identify new business opportunities while protecting and planning to mitigate risk.
