Industry-wide Focus on Innovation

Innovation can come from unexpected places. In financial services, for example, we tend to look to the high-tech firms for development of innovative technologies and the larger banks for deployment. This trend has been particularly notable for retail delivery channels and payments in recent years. Yet it's also true that smaller institutions can take the lead in implementation, as can be seen at Tupelo, Miss.-based BancorpSouth.

In its search for high-value, objective information on innovation in retail banking and payments, BAI takes an industry-wide focus in our research, conferences, education & training unit and publishing outreach, both print and electronic. Our goal is to provide you with insightful perspectives that will help you make strategic decisions to achieve your business goals. For example, innovation will be a key content focus of this year's BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo. And BAI's approach to front-line training helps banks update the knowledge and skills of their customer-facing staff to meet the latest challenges.

Innovation comes in a variety of forms and from all corners of the industry. BAI will continue informing you about these new approaches using the full range of our distribution channels.

To help us continue to stay on top of the latest trends, we welcome your feedback. Let us know what you are seeing in your market by contacting me at Debbie.Bianucci@bai.org. Tell us what BAI can be doing to be of more value to you. We want to hear from you.
