Material Handling


Material Handling includes unloading of your exhibit material at the warehouse or at show site, delivery of these properties to your designated exhibit location, storage and return of your empty containers (includes crates and skids) and loading of your exhibit material onto your designated outbound carrier(s) after the event.

 

Crated and/or Skidded Shipments

Material that is skidded or is in any type of shipping container that can be unloaded at the dock with no additional handling required.

 

Special Handling Shipments

Material delivered by the carrier in such a manner that requires additional handling, such as ground unloading, constricted space unloading, designated piece unloading, stacked shipments, loads mixed with pad wrapped material, carpet/pad only shipments, shipment integrity, alternate delivery location, shipments without individual bills of lading, and shipments that require additional time, equipment or labor to unload.

Note: FED-EX and UPS are included in this category due to their delivery procedures as well as carpet shipments.

 

Uncrated, Pad-Wrapped or Loose Shipments

Material that is shipped loose or pad-wrapped, and/or unskidded machinery without proper lifting bars or hooks.

Warehouse Shipments

  • Will be accepted 30 days prior to a specified deadline date
  • Can be accepted after a specified deadline date causing additional charges to be incurred
  • Will be accepted only on week days (Monday through Friday)
  • Must be crated, skidded or contained within cartons, trunks or other containers (excludes carpet)
  • Loose or pad-wrapped materials will not be accepted
  • Must be accompanied by certified weight tickets
  • Will be delivered to your designated exhibit location prior to set-up

Advance Shipments to Warehouse

To avoid additional after deadline charges, materials must arrive by Friday, October 11, 2010

Freeman will accept crated, boxed or skidded materials beginning Monday, September 20, 2010 at the above address. Warehouse freight will be delivered prior to exhibitor set up. If warehouse freight has to be moved in on a weekend in order to be in the exhibitor’s booth for move-in day, an overtime charge may apply. Warehouse receiving hours are 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Drivers must check in no later than 2:00 p.m. in order to be off-loaded on arrival date. PLEASE NOTE: The warehouse will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2010 in observance of Columbus Day. Shipments will not be accepted on this date.

Target Move-In

Freight will be accepted at showsite on an assigned target date. This schedule will help you coordinate your move-in of your exhibit/display and/or lighting and truss equipment. You will not be required to set up your display equipment at this time. Please click here to view the Targeted Move-In Schedule. Please note: Target move-in does not apply to exhibitors who ship their materials in advance to the Freeman warehouse.

 

Outbound Shipping

Every Outbound Shipment requires a material handling agreement and labels. Freeman’s Exhibitor Services Department will gladly prepare your outbound Material Handling Agreement and labels in advance. Complete the Outbound Material Handling section on the order form and your paperwork will be available onsite. Be sure your carrier knows the company name and booth number when making arrangements for pick-up of your exhibit at the close of the show.

Freeman Transportation is the officially recommended carrier for BAI Retail Delivery. Complete the Exhibit Transportation Forms to make arrangements for Freeman Transportation to handle transporting your exhibit.
