BAI Announces the Recipients of the 2017 Emerging Leaders Scholarship

CHICAGO, Sept. 21, 2017- BAI announced the 2017 Emerging Leaders Scholarship recipients, a select group of high achievers with less than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. Recipients will be recognized at BAI Beacon, an immersive, fast-paced, open campus style financial services conference focused on the key issues financial leaders are facing, on Oct. 4-5 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The BAI Emerging Leaders Scholarship program was launched in 2015 to invest in the professional development of the industry’s future financial services leaders. At BAI Beacon, these scholarship recipients will have access to a personalized agenda with more than 70 sessions over two days and a front row seat at the BAI Global Awards Celebration.

The 2017 BAI Emerging Scholarship recipients are:

Ben Lemke is the Assistant Vice President of Audit and Compliance at Technology Credit Union, San Jose, CA, where he manages the audit and compliance programs in the Enterprise Risk Management department. Before joining the financial services industry in 2015, Lemke served as an aide for a day program for adults with Autism spectrum disorders while studying law at Boston University. He currently serves on the Board of the Continuing Advancement for Special Adults (CASA) Center.

Yury Nabokov is the Innovation and Digital Strategy Manager of Machias Savings Bank, Portland, ME, as well as an instructor of Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing Strategy at Husson University. In 2015, Nabokov facilitated the formation of the Innovation Committee at Machias Savings Bank, which serves as a platform for ideation and feedback analysis of information and suggestions that are collected from employees and customers.

Peri Ozdemir is the Head of Digital Innovation and Special Projects of Emirates NBD, a leading bank in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She has expertise in business processes, retail bank marketing and designing customer experiences. Ozdemir has executed many large-scale and revenue generating projects for retail and SME banking throughout her eight years in the financial services industry, and has significant experience in product development and project management.

Audra Turner is the Payroll Manager of F&M Bank, Oklahoma City, OK, where she focuses on providing proactive solutions to develop the payroll and human resources departments. Turner joined the financial services industry in 2016 and is currently working on enhancing and developing a more effective platform to build communication for F&M Bank. She is a strong advocate for problem-solving and focuses on providing proactive solutions to better benefit the growth of organizations.
